Imagination and the gravity of reality

Working in a K-12 environment is endlessly fascinating. The way children of all ages actually think is best depicted in viewing a Rube Goldberg machine. It’s creative, imaginative, and complex! It often lives in the space where imagination has not yet met with the gravity of reality.

It sometimes best shows itself when a youngster has done something naughty: “I’m absolutely sure you said come in through the window to relieve congestion at the front door. I used my lacrosse stick to turn on the bathroom tap as I did not want to splash my clothes before the full day of purposeful study day I have ahead of me. As for the soap, the Science teacher said ….”

We should all keep our imagination and creativity firmly intact throughout our lives!
